IFC Announces Premiere Date for Comedy 'Stan Against Evil'

IFC is the latest cable network today to announce a premiere date during its presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. The network has unveiled a November start for the new comedy Stan Against Evil.

The eight-episode first season of Stan Against Evil will premiere on Wednesday, November 2 at 10/9c.

Stan Against Evil is a comedic horror series that revolves around a perpetually disgruntled former sheriff of a small New England town who was forced into retirement. Stan has trouble relinquishing his authority to Evie, the tough and beautiful new sheriff in town, but they form an unlikely alliance when both begin to realize things are not quite right. Together, they valiantly fight a plague of unleashed demons that have been haunting the town, which just happens to be built on the site of a massive 17th century witch burning.

The comedy stars John C. McGinley and Janet Varney.

Dana Gould created the series and executive produces with Tom Lassally, Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes. Additionally, The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero provided the make-up effects for the first season.
