SundanceTV Renews 'The A Word'; Sets Final Season Premiere Date for 'Rectify'

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, SundanceTV renewed the original drama series The A Word for a second season and announced a premiere date for the final season of Rectify.





From the BBC, The A Word is currently in the middle of airing its six-episode first season on SundanceTV. The BBC previously renewed the show for a second series back in May. SundanceTV's renewal announcement means it will air those episodes next year.

The drama follows a 5-year-old and how his dysfunctional family cope with the revelation that he has autism.

The cast includes Morven Christie, Lee Ingleby, Greg McHugh, Vinette, Robinson, Max Vento, Molly Wright and Christopher Eccleston.

Peter Bowker developed the series. He executive produces with Keren Margalit, Patrick Spencer, Lucy Ritcher, Sara Johnson and Avi Nir. Keshet UK and Fifty Fathoms produce.


The eight-episode fourth and final season of the critically-acclaimed drama Rectify will premiere on Wednesday, October 26 at 10/9c.

The cast for the final season includes Aden Young, Abigail Spencer, J. Smith-Cameron, Adelaide Clemens, Clayne Crawford, Luke Kirby, Bruce McKinnon, Jake Austin Walker and J.D. Evermore.

Ray McKinnon created the drama. He executive produces with Melissa Bernstein and Mark Johnson. Gran Via Productions and Zip Works produce.
