Casting News - 'Criminal Minds' Promotes Aisha Tyler to Regular; Dean Norris Joins 'The Big Bang Theory'; Plus 5 More Updates!

ABC's Time After Time; CBS' Criminal Minds & The Big Bang Theory; The CW's The Flash; Showtime's Homeland; Syfy's The Magicians; and VH1's The Breaks.




CBS' CRIMINAL MINDS
  • After recurring throughout Season 11, Aisha Tyler (The Talk, Archer, Whose Line Is It Anyway?) has been promoted to series regular on the drama's upcoming twelfth season. She plays Dr. Tara Lewis, a psychologist with an eye on forensic psychology and its application toward the criminal justice system. She joined the show last season to fill the void left by Jennifer Love Hewitt's departure and A.J. Cook's maternity leave.
CBS' THE BIG BANG THEORY
  • Breaking Bad star Dean Norris has landed a recurring role on the comedy's upcoming tenth season. He will play Captain Williams, a tough Air Force representative from the Department of Materiel Command who is very interested in the guys' quantum gyroscope for military applications.
VH1's THE BREAKS
  • Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sinqua Walls (Power) and Ali Ahn (Billions) have joined the cast of the upcoming drama series. Diaz will play Damita Alonzo, a writer for a hip New York weekly. Walls will play Terrance "Lil Roy" Baltimore, a charming and ambitious tour manager. Ahn will play Jojo Shin, the Art Director at Fouray Management.
ABC's TIME AFTER TIME
  • Jennifer Ferrin (Hell on Wheels, The Knick) has booked a series regular role on the upcoming drama starring Freddie Stroma. She will play Brooke, a New York City doctor who has a flirtatious encounter with John Stevenson (Josh Bowman), aka Jack the Ripper. She soon becomes his next unwitting target. But when Brooke proves herself to be a perfect match for John both romantically and intellectually, she's cause the Ripper himself to question his murderous intentions.
SYFY's THE MAGICIANS
  • Arlen Escarpeta (American Dreams, Whitney) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Prince Ess, a handsome, rugged, pelt-clad man with a sort of frat bro air of entitlement. He is also the ruler of Loria.
SHOWTIME's HOMELAND
  • Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) and Hill Harper (Limitless) have landed recurring roles on the drama's upcoming sixth season. Sabongui will play a law professor and advocate for the Muslim-American community. Harper will play the chief of staff to the president-elect (Elizabeth Marvel).
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Grey Damon (Star-Crossed, Aquarius) will appear in an upcoming episode of the drama's third season. He will play Sam Schudder aka Mirror Master, a smooth criminal with a huge ego. Upon discovering he now has the power to travel through any reflective surface, Scudder embarks on a massive crime spree to prove himself the greatest thief that Central City has ever seen.
