Casting News - David Meunier to Recur on 'Arrow'; Paget Brewster Back as Series Regular on 'Criminal Minds'; Plus 6 More Updates!

Audience's Ice; CBS' Criminal Minds; The CW's Arrow, Riverdale & Supergirl; FOX's Empire & Lethal Weapon; and Netflix's GLOW.

  • Nurse Jackie alum Betty Gilpin has been cast on the upcoming comedy starring Alison Brie. She will play Debbie Eagan, a former soap star who left show business to have a baby, only to be sucked back in when her picture-perfect life is not what it seems.
  • After appearing in three episodes of Season 2, Morocco Omari has been promoted to series regular on the drama's upcoming third season. He plays Tariq, an FBI agent out to get Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Empire Entertainment. The second season finale revealed that he is also Lucious' half-brother.
  • David Meunier (Justified, Aquarius) has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth season. He will play Ishmael Gregor, the slick and intimidating Pakhan (Godfather) of the Bratva, who takes a special interest in Oliver (Stephen Amell).
  • Robin Givens (Head of the Class) and Shannon Purser (Stranger Things) have landed recurring role on the midseason drama series. Givens will play Sierra McCoy, the powerful and fabulous mayor of Riverdale and Josie's (Ashleigh Murray) mother. Chic and driven, she is struggling to guide Riverdale through the crisis precipitated by the mysterious death of Jason Blossom, all while making sure the town's upcoming 75th Jubilee Celebration goes off without a hitch. Purser will play Ethel Muggs, who is drawn into a friendship with Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) after they team up for a revenge plot on Reggie Mantle (Ross Butler).
  • Paget Brewster had already been slated to appear in multiple episodes of the drama's upcoming twelfth season. But now, she is officially returning as a series regular for the new season. She joined the show as Emily Prentiss in Season 2 and was a regular cast member through Season 7. Since her departure, she has appeared as a guest star in a couple of episodes.
  • Audrey Marie Anderson (The Unit, Arrow) has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming drama starring Cam Gigandet and Jeremy Sisto. She will play Ava Pierce, who's strong-willed, independent, fiercely loyal and just can't seem to shake her ex-husband Jake (Gigandet).
  • Frederick Schmidt (A Sea of Change) has been tapped to play villain Metallo on the drama's upcoming second season. He will appear in at least two episodes, starting with the season premiere. In the episode, international assassin John Corben is badly injured after taking on both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). He is then reborn by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.
  • Michelle Mitchenor (Chi-Raq) and Kristoffer Polaha (Ringer) will appear on the upcoming drama series. Mitchenor will recur as Detective Sonya Bailey, Murtaugh's (Damon Wayans Sr.) tough and dogged protégé who is at the point in her career where she wants to prove she belongs in the robbery/homicide division. Polaha will guest star as Agent Bennet Hirsch, a tough and straightforward special agent with the ATF who lends his expertise to Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Murtaugh when a particularly deadly military-grade weapon is used during a crime.
