Development News - August 30, 2016

Cinemax's Warrior and FOX's Ghosted.

CINEMAX's WARRIOR
  • The premium cable network has given a pilot order to drama Warrior written by Jonathan Tropper. He will executive produce with Justin Lin, Shannon Lee, Troy Craig Poon and Danielle Woodrow. Lin may direct the pilot but no deal has been made yet for that. Perfect Storm Entertainment, Tropper Ink and Bruce Lee Entertainment produce. Set against the backdrop of San Francisco's Chinatown in the aftermath of the Civil War, the project tells the story of a young martial arts prodigy, newly arrived from China, who finds himself caught up in the bloody Chinatown Tong wars.
FOX's GHOSTED
  • In a very competitive situation, FOX has landed comedy project Ghosted by offering a pilot production commitment. The single-camera comedy has Craig Robinson (The Office) and Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) set to star and executive produce. Tom Gormican (That Awkward Moment) is writing. The three executive produce with Naomi Scott, Mark Schulman and Oly Obst. 20th Century Fox Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Getting Rad Productions produce. Described as a comedic X-Files, Ghosted centers on a cynical, hilarious skeptic, Leroy Wright (Robinson), and a genius "true believer" in the paranormal, Max Allison (Scott), hired by the Underground Investigative Service to look into the rampant "unexplained" activity in Los Angeles - all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race.
