BET's Comedy Get Down; CBS' Training Day; The CW's The Flash & Legends of Tomorrow; FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, EmpireNew Girl & Son of Zorn; and Freeform's Shadowhunters.




THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Susan Walters (The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She will play Dr. Carla Tannhauser, Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) mother, a world class biomedical engineer and CEO of a major research company. The two have long had a difficult relationship, with Caitlin finding her mother cold and withholding and Carla regarding her daughter as rebellious and ungrateful.
CBS' TRAINING DAY
  • Christina Vidal (Code Black, Limitless) has joined the upcoming drama starring Bill Paxton and Justin Cornwell as a new series regular. She will play Detective Valeria Chavez, the best investigator in the Robbery Homicide Division. Minus the LAPD raid jacket and handcuffs, you might take her for a soccer mom but you'd do so at your extreme peril.
BET's COMEDY GET DOWN
  • Tawny Newsome (Bajillion Dollar Propertie$) has booked a supporting role on the upcoming comedy starring George Lopez, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer. She will play Nina, a whip-smart, tough and organized tour road manager to the comedians.
THE CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
  • Sarah Grey (Power Rangers) will appear on the drama's upcoming second season in a recurring role. She will play Stargirl, a member of the Justice Society of America. She wields a cosmic staff and converter belt that offer her enhanced agility and strength - among other abilities.
FOX's EMPIRE
  • Grammy winner Mariah Carey is set to finally guest star on the hit drama for its upcoming third season. She will play Kitty, a superstar collaborating with Jamal (Jussie Smollett) on an explosive new song. When their duet hits a few obstacles, Kitty helps Jamal dig deep to overcome personal difficulties and reach a musical breakthrough. Her episode will air October 5.
FOX's BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and NEW GIRL
  • The two hit comedies are staging a rare comedy crossover episode for the fall. The one-hour episode will be set in New York and air on Tuesday, October 11. No additional details were released about the events that bring the two shows together.
FOX's SON OF ZORN
  • The broadcast network is making a change to the premiere date for the upcoming live action/animated hybrid comedy starring Jason Sudeikis. The series will now have a special preview on Sunday, September 11 after the season's first NFL doubleheader at 8/7c. The show will then air its second episode in its regular time slot on Sunday, September 25 at 8:30/7:30c.
FREEFORM's SHADOWHUNTERS
  • Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer have joined the drama's upcoming second season as the new showrunners. They replace series creator Ed Decter, who abruptly exited the series last week as production was about to begin. Slavkin and Swimmer previously served as showrunners for The WB's Smallville and Syfy's Dominion.
