CBS' Killer Instinct & Perfect Citizen; and NBC's Reverie & Untitled Mike O'Brien.





NBC's REVERIE
  • The broadcast network has given a pilot order to drama Reverie written by Mickey Fisher (Extant). He executive produces with Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Brooklyn Weaver. Universal Television and Amblin Television produce. The project is a grounded and dramatic thriller revolving around a former detective specializing in human behavior who is brought in when the launch of an advanced virtual reality program has dangerous and unintended consequences.
NBC's UNTITLED MIKE O'BRIEN PROJECT
  • The network has also ordered a pilot today for an untitled single camera comedy written by Mike O'Brien (Saturday Night Live). He will executive produce with Lorne Michaels, Seth Meyers, Andrew Singer and Mike Shoemaker. Universal Television and Broadway Video produce. The project revolves around a hilariously cynical Ivy League professor who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school biology teacher. There, he imposes his unorthodox teaching style and uses the kids to plot out revenge on those who wronged him.
CBS' KILLER INSTINCT
  • The broadcast network has ordered two drama pilots today. The first is for Killer Instinct based on James Patterson's upcoming novel Dr. Death with The Good Wife's Alan Cumming set to play the lead role. Michael Rauch (Royal Pains) wrote the pilot. He executive produces with Cumming, Patterson, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Bill Robinson and Leopoldo Gout. CBS Television Studios and Secret Hideout Productions. The project centers on a former CIA operative (Cumming) who has since built a "normal" life as a gifted professor and writer who is pulled back into his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer on the loose.
CBS' PERFECT CITIZEN
  • The second drama pilot order at CBS is for Perfect Citizen written by Craig Turk (The Good Wife). CBS Television Studios and Thinking Hat Productions produce. The project revolves around the former general counsel for the NSA who, after his involvement as a whistleblower in an international scandal, embarks on a new career at a storied law firm in Boston. There, he faces the reality that while half the country thinks he's our greatest patriot, the other half thinks he's a traitor.
