FX Announces Premiere Dates for 'Feud: Bette and Joan,' 'The Americans' and 'Archer'

During its day at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, FX announced premiere dates for the first season of new anthology series Feud, the fifth season of The Americans and the eighth season of Archer (which is moving to FXX).

The first season of Ryan Murphy's next anthology series Feud: Bette and Joan will premiere on Sunday, March 5 at 10/9c.

The first installment will tell the story of the legendary rivalry between Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) during their collaboration on the Academy Award-nominated thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, and well after the cameras stopped rolling. The series explores how the two women endured ageism, sexism, and misogyny while struggling to hang on to success and fame in the twilight of their careers.

The cast also includes Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Jackie Hoffman, Alison Wright, Dominic Burgess, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Kiernan Shipka.

Ryan Murphy created the series. He executive produces with Tim Minear, Alexis Martin Woodall, Dede Gardner and Brad Pitt. Fox 21 Television Studios and Plan B Entertainment produce.

The critically acclaimed drama The Americans will return for its fifth season, on a new night, on Tuesday, March 7 at 10/9c. The series has already been renewed for a sixth and final season.

The drama stars Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Holly Taylor, Keidrich Sellati, Lev Gorn, Costa Ronin, Brandon J. Dirden and Noah Emmerich, with recurring guest stars Frank Langella and Margo Martindale.

Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields created the drama. They executive produce with Graham Yost, Chris Long, Stephen Schiff, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Joshua Brand is a consulting producer. Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

Archer moves to FXX for its eighth season on Wednesday, April 5 at 10/9c. The animated comedy has already been renewed for Seasons 9 and 10.

The voice cast includes H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, Amber Nash, Adam Reed and Lucky Yates.

Adam Reed created the comedy. He executive produces with Matt Thompson. FX Productions and Floyd County Productions produce.

It was also announced today during John Landgraf's executive session at the press tour that the third installment of Fargo is likely to debut in late April or early May 2017. Meanwhile, the second season of Atlanta won't debut on FX until 2018 due to Donald Glover's busy production schedule with the upcoming young Han Solo Star Wars movie. And finally, American Crime Story won't return for its second season - focused on Hurricane Katrina - until 2018 as well. However, it will air both its second and third seasons (focused on the death of Gianni Versace) in the same calendar year.
