Casting News - February 14, 2017

ABC's Designated Survivor; Amazon's The Last Tycoon; CBS' Salvation & Zoo; FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine; Freeform's Cloak and Dagger; HBO's Ballers; and Netflix's Altered Carbon & Fuller House.

FOX's BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
  • Gina Gershon (Rescue Me, Red Oaks) has booked a recurring role on the comedy's fourth season. She will play Sergeant Melanie Hawkins, a notoriously bad-ass cop who runs the NYPD's most elite-task force. Both Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) are in awe of her and compete against each other for an open spot on her task force.
FREEFORM's CLOAK AND DAGGER
  • Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore have been cast on the upcoming drama from Marvel. Roth will play Melissa Bowen, Tandy's (Olivia Holt) mother, an eternal optimist despite the struggles to adapt to her new existence. While complex and emotionally composed, her love for her daughter burns bright. Reuben will play Adina Johnson, Tyrone's (Aubrey Joseph) mother, who invests every aspect of her being into giving her son the life she believes he deserves. But she props up and protects Tyrone so much she almost forgets to love him. Mussenden will play Michael Johnson, Tyrone's father, who trudges through his desk job to keep his family safe and happy. He's a working-class father who does what he can to ensure his son will grow up to be a great man. Lundstedt will play Liam, a salt-of-the-earth townie who operates as Tandy's partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend. But underneath his rough-around-the-edges appearance, he has big dreams. Saito will play Dr. Bernard Sanjo, an emotional cornerstone in Tyrone's life. Evermore will play Detective Connors, a contradiction of a man embracing an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest.
NETFLIX's ALTERED CARBON
  • Bones star Tamara Taylor has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Joel Kinnaman and Renée Elise Goldsberry. She will play Oumou Prescott, a very powerful, whip-smart lawyer who represents Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy).

CBS' SALVATION

He will play Harris Anders, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, a consummate Washington insider who is tasked with running the government's top-secret plan to deflect a planet killer asteroid. A man who's devoted himself to country, Harris will find himself torn between following orders, following his conscience and following his heart.
NETFLIX's FULLER HOUSE
  • After recurring throughout the second season, Adam Hagenbuch has been promoted to series regular for the comedy's upcoming third season. He plays Jimmy Gibbler, Kimmy's (Andrea Barber) brother.
CBS' ZOO

AMAZON's THE LAST TYCOON
  • Eion Bailey (Once Upon a Time) has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Matt Bomer and Kelsey Grammer. He will play Clint Frost, an actor who's handsome as hell, confident and excited about viewing an early preview of his movie, The Bells of Boston, for the studio brass. However, his elation turns to fear when he realizes his performance, like the movie, is not good.
