HBO Orders 10 Episodes of Drama 'Succession' Starring Brian Cox

HBO has given a 10-episode series order to original drama series Succession, it was announced today. The drama will premiere on the premium cable network in 2018.






Succession tells the saga of a fictional, American global-media family that is not only rich and powerful but also powerfully dysfunctional. The drama will explore family loyalty, international business and the perils of power in the 21st century.

The cast includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfayden, Hiam Abbass, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, Parker Sawyers and Peter Friedman.

Jesse Armstrong wrote the pilot, which was directed by Adam McKay. Armstrong will serve as showrunner for the first season. Both Armstrong and McKay will executive produce with Will Ferrell, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick and Ilene S. Landress.
