Amazon's Jack Ryan; AMC's Preacher; CMT's Nashville; Discovery's Manhunt: The Unabomber; and TNT's The Alienist.

  • Sean Astin (The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings) will play Theodore Roosevelt on the upcoming drama starring Daniel Brühl and Luke Evans. On the drama, Astin will play Roosevelt before his presidency, when he was the police commissioner of New York City. He is further described as a brilliant, ambitious but principled reformist determined to clear up corruption in the police force he now heads. While usually inured to crime in New York, Roosevelt becomes outraged over the fact that children are being murdered in his city and develops a war-like zeal to find the perpetrator.
  • The drama's upcoming second season has added Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), Pip Torrens (The Crown) and Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul) as new series regulars. Moreover, Malcolm Barrett (Timeless), Ronald Guttman (Homeland) and Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why) have booked recurring roles.
  • Newcomer John Berchtold has been cast as the young Ted Kaczynski - played as an adult by Paul Bettany - on the upcoming drama series.
  • Mena Massoud (Open Heart) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring John Krasinski and Abbie Cornish. He will play Tarek Kassar, a CIA analyst, friend and colleague to Jack Ryan (Krasinski). He likes to give Jack a hard time but always has his back.
  • Hart of Dixie star Rachel Bilson and Empire alum Kaitlin Doubleday have joined the hit drama for the second half of its fifth season. No details were immediately released about the characters they will be playing. However, both actresses took to social media to offer some teases - with Bilson posting a photo of record label Highway 65 and Doubleday showing the Bluebird Café.
