Development News - Josh Radnor Books Lead on 'Drama High'; Anthony Edwards Joins FOX Pilot; Plus 7 More Updates!

ABC's The Crossing, Salamander & Untitled Goldbergs Spinoff; CBS' Mission Control & Perfect Citizen; FOX's Ghosted & Untitled Sheldon Turner; FX's Mayans MC; and NBC's Drama High.




FOX's UNTITLED SHELDON TURNER PROJECT
  • ER star Anthony Edwards has been cast on the drama pilot starring Archie Panjabi and Rita Wilson. He will play Darwin Conn, the fastidious President of the University who is Matt's (Austin Stowell) boss and mentor.
CBS' MISSION CONTROL
  • Levi Fiehler (The Fosters) has joined the cast of the drama pilot written by Andy Weir. He will play Izzy, an intense "propeller head" who looks like he thinks in computer code (and does).
FOX's GHOSTED
  • Adeel Akhtar (Utopia) has booked a series regular role on the comedy pilot starring Craig Robinson and Adam Scott. He will play Barry, a cocky, condescending, brilliant doctor who is the smartest and, in his mind, most handsome dude in the room.
NBC's DRAMA HIGH
  • How I Met Your Mother and Mercy Street star Josh Radnor will play the lead role on the drama pilot written by Jason Katims. Damon Gillespie (Aladdin) has also been cast today. Radnor will play Lou, a left-of-center leading man who has to discover his own passion, drive and charisma. He is a father of three, a husband to Gail and an English teacher at a school in a rust belt town in Pennsylvania. He decides to take a leap on taking over the drama department and it ignites an excitement in him which surprises him and spreads to his students. Gillespie will play Robbie, the town's star football player, who balances his life on the football field and caring for his sick mother at the Nursing Care facility. Every day he is told what he must do, never breaking away until he surprisingly finds his true talent on the stage.
ABC's SALAMANDER
  • Rescue Me alum Larenz Tate is set as the male lead on the drama pilot starring Allison Miller. Neil Sandilands (The 100) has also been cast today. Tate will play Ethan, a brilliant but misanthropic engineer who recruits a skeptical Homeland Security psychiatrist, Nora (Miller) to help him track a mysterious bank robber. Sandilands will play Jack, a domestic terrorist of sorts, a cunning anarchist with a plan to bring it all down.
CBS' PERFECT CITIZEN
  • Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies, Wicked) has landed a series regular role on the drama pilot starring Noah Wyle. She will play Jessica, the heartbeat of the firm who got her name on the door by outworking and outthinking the Ivy Leaguers. 
ABC's UNTITLED THE GOLDBERGS SPINOFF
  • Rachel Crow (The X Factor) and Summer Parker (Saints & Sinners) will co-star on the comedy pilot spinoff of The Goldbergs. Crow will play Felicia Winston, Lucy's older daughter. A rebel in Doc Martens, and she's forcibly moved from her old school (where she was on a drinks-and-drugs downward path) to her uncle's academy. Parker will play Gigi Winston, Lucy's younger daughter, a quirky gung-ho girl. Dorky, clueless and unable to notice when the "mean girls" are making fun of her, Gigi looks forward to making friends at William Penn Academy.
ABC's THE CROSSING
  • Steve Zahn (Mad Dogs) will play the male lead on the drama pilot starring Sandrine Holt. Rob Campbell has also been cast today. Zahn will play Jude, the local sheriff with a past. Campbell will play Paul, a mysterious and cerebral member of a group of survivors who arrive on the shores of a sleepy New England beach town after an apparent catastrophe.
FX's MAYANS MC
  • Into the Badlands star Sarah Bolger has been cast on the drama pilot spinoff of Sons of Anarchy. She will play Emily, he beautiful "guera" next door and childhood sweetheart of EZ (JD Pardo). But when Romeo departed, this Juliet didn't unsheathe the dagger; she traded it in for diamond studs and a mansion on the hill.
