Netflix Extends Renewal for 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' to Season 3

A month after ordering a second season, Netflix has extended the renewal for its adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events through a third season.






The adaptation of the book series centers on Count Olaf, the evil guardian of the Baudelaire orphans who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. As the children manage to evade Count Olaf's scheming attempts to steal their fortune, they begin to pick up clues about their parents' past. However, Count Olaf is determined to get what he wants.

The series stars Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith and K. Todd Freeman.

Guest stars in the first season included Joan Cusack, Aasif Mandvi, Alfre Woodard, Rhys Darby, Don Johnson and Catherine O'Hara.

Barry Sonnenfeld and Mark Hudis developed the series, with Daniel Handler serving as head writer. Sonnenfeld and Handler executive produce with Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, Ted Biaselli and Rose Lam. Neil Patrick Harris is a producer. Paramount Television and Sonnenfeld Productions produce.
