During its upfront presentation to advertisers today, Pop gave series orders to single camera comedies Hot Date and Swedish Dicks, Private Investigators as well as drama Clique. All three are slated to debut later in 2017.
Hot Date is based on the CollegeHumor web series of the same name. It will continue to star Emily Axford and Brian K. Murphy.
The duo executive produce with Will Arnet. Principato-Young Entertainment and Electric Avenue Productions produce.
Clique centers on childhood soulmates Georgia (Aisling Franciosi) and Holly (Synnove Karlsen) as they head to university. A few weeks into the so-called best years of their lives, Georgia gets drawn into an elite clique of alpha girls, led by mysterious professor Jude Monroe (Louise Brealey).
Jess Brittain created the drama. She executive produces with Bryan Elsley. The series was original ordered to series by BBC Three. Pop will board the series as a co-producer for the second season.
Swedish Dicks, Private Investigators stars Peter Stormare and Johan Glans. It also features Keanu Reeves in a recurring role, marking his first major TV appearance. The series follows an aging ex-stuntman stuck in the past and an overly optimistic Swedish DJ stuck in the digital world. Together they get unstuck by forming the private detective firm Swedish Dicks - solving some of the strangest and wildest cases L.A. has ever seen.
The comedy is produced by Lionsgate Television. It has already been renewed for a second season, which will begun production this summer.
