Starz Renews 'American Gods' for Season 2

After airing just two episodes of its first season, Starz has renewed its original drama series American Gods for a second season. The new season is expected to debut on the premium cable network in 2018.

An exact episode count for the second season has not been determined yet. However, it's expected to be 8 episodes just like the first season.

The drama stars Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Pablo Schreiber and Ian McShane.

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green developed the drama based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. They executive produce with David Slade, Craig Cegielski, Stefanie Berk and Thom Beers. FremantleMedia North America, Living Dead Guy, J.A. Green Construction Corp. and The Blank Corporation produce.

"Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with American Gods, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods," said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming, Starz.
