Spike Cancels 'The Mist' After One Season

Spike has opted to cancel its original drama series The Mist after one season, it was announced today. The drama wrapped its 10-episode season on August 24, 2017.






The drama starred Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner and Frances Conroy.

Christian Torpe created the drama. Dimension Television produced.

Across its first season, the drama only averaged 800,000 total viewers when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing.

The news today comes as Spike is set to rebrand as Paramount Network starting on January 18, 2018. The Mist was the first show announced as a return to ongoing scripted programming for the network. It had the potential to return for a second season at the new network. But now, Paramount will launch with high-profile entries Waco, Yellowstone, American Woman and Heathers.
