Freeform Renews 'The Bold Type' for 2 Additional Seasons

Freeform has renewed its original drama series The Bold Type for an additional two seasons, it was announced today. Seasons 2 and 3 will each consist of 10 episodes.






The renewal announcement also comes with a key change happening behind-the-scenes of the show. Series creator Sarah Watson will not be returning after creative differences with the network. She will replaced by Sweet/Vicious alum Amanda Lasher as showrunner for the new episodes.

The drama stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy, Sam Page, Matt Ward and Melora Hardin.

Additional executive producers include Joanna Coles, David Bernard and Ruben Fleischer. Universal Television, Freeform Original Productions and The District produce.
