FOX has renewed its original drama series The Orville for a second season, it was announced today. The first season is a limited run at 13 episodes. No exact episode count was immediately announced for the second season, though it is expected to be the same.
The comedic drama stars Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee and Mark Jackson.
MacFarlane created the series. He executive produces with Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jason Clark, Liz Heldens, Lili Fuller and director Jon Favreau. 20th Century Fox Television and Fuzzy Door Productions produce.
"Once again Seth has struck a powerful chord with viewers," said Michael Thorn, President, Fox Entertainment. "He has delivered a series full of optimism, drama and his trademark humor.
