USA Renews 'Shooter' for Season 3

USA has renewed its original drama series Shooter for a third season, it was announced today. The new season will include 13 episodes - up from the 10 ordered for the first two seasons. The show will return sometime in 2018.

The renewal comes after the second season of the drama was cut short by two episodes after series star Ryan Phillippe broke his leg in an offset accident.

As Bob Lee (Phillippe) struggles to put an end to the events of Season 2, a nemesis reveals mysterious details surrounding his father Earl's death, leading Bob Lee toward a startling conspiracy that hits close to home.

In addition to Phillippe, the drama stars Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Omar Epps and Josh Stewart.

John Hlavin and Matty Kirwin developed the drama based on the series of novels by Stephen Hunter. Hlavin executive produces with Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Phillippe is a producer. Universal Cable Productions, Paramount Television, Closest to the Hole Productions and Leverage Entertainment produce.
