Casting News - 'Younger' Promotes Charles Michael Davis to Series Regular; Michael O'Neill Joins 'Scandal'; Plus 2 More Updates!

ABC's Scandal; FOX's The Orville; HBO's True Detective; and TV Land's Younger.





TV LAND's YOUNGER
  • After recurring in the fourth season, Charles Michael Davis has been promoted to series regular for the comedy's upcoming fifth season. He is coming off a five-season starring role on The CW's The Originals.
  • He plays Zane Anders, a rival book editor and potential love interest for Kelsey (Hilary Duff). He was hired by Empirical at the end of the fourth season.
ABC's SCANDAL
  • Michael O'Neill has booked a recurring role on the drama's seventh and final season. He has previously had recurring roles on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, CBS' Extant, A&E's Bates Motel and SundanceTV's Rectify.
  • Like with most casting on the Shondaland drama, no details were immediately released about the character he will be playing.
HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE
  • Brandon Flynn and Michael Graziadei have landed recurring roles on the upcoming third installment of the anthology series. Flynn stars in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. Graziadei has appeared on Amazon's Good Girls Revolt and Lifetime's The Lottery.
  • Flynn will play Ryan Peters. Graziadei will play Dan O'Brien. No additional information about their characters was immediately released.
FOX's THE ORVILLE
  • Chris Johnson has been cast in a recurring role on the dramedy's upcoming second season. He starred in the short-lived dramas Against the Wall (on Lifetime) and Betrayal (on ABC).
  • He will play a new character aboard the ship. All additional character details are currently being kept under wraps.
