Development News - Roselyn Sanchez Lands Lead on 'Grand Hotel'; Sarah Jeffery Boards 'Charmed' Reboot; Plus 1 More Update!

Development News - February 23, 2018

ABC's Grand Hotel & Three Rivers; and The CW's Charmed.

ABC's GRAND HOTEL
  • Roselyn Sanchez has been cast as the female lead on the drama pilot written by Brian Tanen. She starred for four seasons in Lifetime's Devious Maids. Her casting reunites her with Tanen and Eva Longoria, who executive produce the pilot as well as the former Lifetime drama.
  • She will play Gigi, the embodiment of "Miami glamour," she is impossibly stylish with a flare for excess. Unapologetically fabulous but never frivolous, she's smart, cunning and fiercely loyal to her twin daughters. She's the hotel owner's second wife but never considers herself "second" at anything.
THE CW's CHARMED
  • Sarah Jeffery will play one of the three lead roles on the drama pilot reboot written by Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin. She has been a series regular on NBC's Shades of Blue for three seasons. NBC currently hasn't set a premiere date for the third season or renewed the drama for a fourth. As such, Jeffery was released so that she could shoot the pilot.
  • She will play Madison, the youngest sister, a bubbly college freshman who finds witchcraft at odds with her goal of getting in to a super fun sorority.
ABC's THREE RIVERS
  • John Larroquette will star opposite Annaleigh Ashford on the comedy pilot written by Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer. He won four Emmy Awards for his supporting role in NBC's Night Court. He has recently starred in TNT's The Librarians and CBS' Me, Myself and I.
  • He will play Beau Watts, Rebecca's (Ashford) father, a man who is unkempt, charismatic, with a real twinkle in his eye. A scoundrel for sure, but so engaging he can charm the pants off anybody. He is the founder and owner of the hotel and the catalyst for the competitive spirit of the Watts siblings.
