Netflix Sets Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'Luke Cage'

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original drama series Luke Cage.

The 13-episode second season will drop on the streaming service on Friday, June 22.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem, with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can't save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

The new season stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Mustafa Shakir, Gabrielle Dennis, Rosario Dawson and Alfre Woodard.

Cheo Hodari Coker developed the drama based on the character from Marvel Comics. He executive produces with Charles Murray, Cindy Holland, Allie Goss, Alison Engel, Kris Henigman, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Dan Buckley, Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb. Marvel Television and ABC Studios produce.
