A day ahead of the network's upfront presentation, ABC has decided to renew its original drama series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a sixth season.
The drama stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons and Natalia Cordova-Buckley.
Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen created the drama. They executive produce with Stan Lee, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Jeffrey Bell, Jeph Loeb, Paul Zbyszewski, Jim Chory and Brent Fletcher. ABC Studios, Marvel Television and Mutant Enemy Productions produce.
However, the sixth season will only feature 13 episodes - down from the 22 for each of the previous five seasons. There has been no confirmation though about it possibly being the drama's final season.
