Netflix Announces Premiere Date for Season 5 of 'Arrested Development'

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming fifth season of the original comedy series Arrested Development.

The new season will drop on the streaming service on Tuesday, May 29.

The comedy stars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter.

Mitchell Hurwitz created the comedy. He executive produces with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.

Today's announcement comes after Hurwitz released a remixed version of the fourth season where he cut the original episodes into chronological order. That 22 episode season was released on May 4, 2018.

The news also comes after Netflix confirmed that Tambor will remain a part of the series and continue to do press events for the new season despite the allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate workplace conduct against him. Those accusations led to him being fired from his lead role on Amazon's Transparent.
