FOX Gives Series Order to Comedy 'Rel' Starring Lil Rel Howery

After just cancelling three of its comedy series, FOX has just given a series order to the new multi-camera comedy Rel starring Lil Rel Howery (The Carmichael Show, Get Out).

Lil Rel, a prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to "always believe in yourself and great things will come," finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the South Side of Chicago who is on a quest for love, respect and a new barber.

The comedy stars Lil Rel Howery, Sinbad, Jordan L. Jones and Jessica Moore.

Lil Rel Howery, Kevin Barnett and Josh Rabinowitz wrote the pilot, which was directed by Gerry Cohen. They executive produce with showrunner Mike Scully and Jerrod Carmichael. 20th Century Fox Television produces.
