FX Orders 10 Episodes of 'What We Do in the Shadows' Reboot

FX has today given a series order to the reboot of Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi's What We Do in the Shadows. The first season will include 10 episodes and debut in spring 2019.

Based on the feature film of the same name, the comedy follows three vampires who have been roommates for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen star in the series. Guest stars in the pilot include Doug Jones, Beanie Feldstein, Mark Proksch and Jake McDorman.

Jemaine Clement wrote the pilot, which was directed by Taika Waititi. They executive produce with Scott Rudin, Paul Simms, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush. FX Productions and Scott Rudin Productions produce.

"What We Do in the Shadows only gets better with age thanks to this brilliant adaptation for television by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi," said Nick Grad, President of Originals, FX. "Their feature version was a hilarious, fresh take on the mundanity of everyday life that even immortals must face. We are thankful to them, Paul Simms and Scott Rudin, and this amazing cast for taking us deeper into the shadows with this series."
