Apple has today given a series order to the original half-hour dramedy series Little Voice from executive producers J.J. Abrams and Sara Bareilles. The first season will include 10 episodes and debut in 2019.
A love letter to the diverse musicality of New York, the series explores the universal journey of finding your authentic voice in your early 20s - and then the courage to use it.
Grammy and Tony nominated singer-songwriter Bareilles will provide original music for the series. It's currently unclear if she will have a starring role in the series as well.
Jessie Nelson will write and direct the first episode of the series. She will executive produce with Abrams, Bareilles and Ben Stephenson. Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot Productions produce.
