Ahead of the drama's September series debut, Lifetime has renewed its original drama series You for a second season. The renewal was announced today during the network's presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.
The upcoming drama based on Caroline Kepnes' novel of the same name stars Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Zach Cherry, Luca Padovan and Shay Mitchell.
The second season will follow Joe (Badgley) as his search for love takes him to Hollywood where dreams can be made or shattered. Kepnes' follow-up novel Hidden Bodies will serve as the focus for the second season.
Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble developed the series. They executive produce with Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. A+E Studios, Warner Horizon Television, Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment produce.
