Netflix Orders 10 Episodes of Untitled Drama Starring 'Big Little Lies' Alum Kathryn Newton

Netflix has given a series order to an untitled drama series starring Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies, Halt and Catch Fire, Little Women, Blockers). Production on the 10-episode first season will begin in September near Boston for a 2019 premiere.

A mix of Lost and Lord of the Flies, the drama revolves around young adults fighting for survival. Teens are forced to take matters into their own hands when they return to their town from a trip cut short to find that everyone is missing and there's no way out of the town. Teens will party, panic, grieve, fight and ultimately be forced to decide how to deal with the unthinkable.

Newton will play Allie, the teen who becomes the leader of the mysterious world. She is constantly living in the shadow of her older sister, Kim. She inspires her sister to take charge of the group and supports her during the confrontation that follows.

Chris Keyser (The Last Tycoon, Tyrant) created the drama series. He will executive produce with director Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man).
