Development News - Rob Heaps, Zach Roerig and Paul Fitzgerald Board USA Drama Pilot 'Dare Me'; Plus 1 More Update!

Development News - August 14, 2018

Hulu's Reprisal and USA's Dare Me.

USA's DARE ME
  • Rob Heaps, Zach Roerig, Paul Fitzgerald, Joyful Drake, Tammy Blanchard, Antonio J. Bell and Alison Thornton have been cast on the drama pilot written by Megan Abbott.
  • Heaps (Imposters) will play Matt French, the hardworking husband of cheerleading coach Colette French (Willa Fitzgerald). After some hard times, his new job moves his family to Sutton Grove and offers the promise of the tide changing, at least as far as he knows.
  • Roerig (The Vampire Diaries) will play Sarge Will Mosley, the head Marine recruiter stationed in Sutton Grove High School. Although strikingly handsome and intriguingly remote, he's a haunted man, hiding secrets and a complicated personal history.
  • Fitzgerald (Younger) will play Bert Cassidy, a Sutton Grove real estate developer, father of two cheerleaders on the squad, and the number-one cheer booster. A consummate wheeler-dealer, he has big plans for both the squad and the town, and intends to see them through, by any means at his disposal.
  • Drake (Let's Stay Together) will play Faith Hanlon, Addy's (Herizen Guardiola) grounded and very loving single mother. A hardworking police officer, she wants her daughter to thrive but is wary of her getting her hopes up.
  • Blanchard (The Iceman Cometh) will play Lana Cassidy, Beth's (Marlo Kelly) world-weary, former beauty queen mother, who spends most of her days in a palatial and lonely mansion, numbing herself with prescription pills and leaving her daughter to raise herself.
  • Bell (Nigerian Prince) will play Michael Slocum, Addy's friend and neighbor. He dreams of a college football scholarship and a future beyond Sutton Grove, but the Marine recruiters stationed in his school may be his only ticket out.
  • Thornton (Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce) will play Tacy Cassidy, a freshman member of the cheerleading squad who's eager to step out of the shadows and secure a spot at the top of the pyramid.
HULU's REPRISAL
  • David Dastmalchian and Rhys Wakefield will co-star on the drama pilot starring Abigail Spencer. Dastmalchian has recurred on CBS' MacGyver and Showtime's Twin Peaks. Wakefield starred for four years in the Australian drama Home and Away.
  • Dastmalchian will play Johnson, the longest standing member of The 3 River Phoenixes. He has chosen to take a backseat to his placement in their hierarchy. Reliable, dedicated and quieter than most, no one expects much out of the typically stoic young man. But it's his progressing unpredictability that just may make him the Phoenixes' greatest threat.
  • Wakefield will play Matty, the scrappy, sturdy and perhaps most dedicated to The Banished Brawlers' cause. He has been paying his dues as one of The 3 River Phoenixes for far too long. As he struggles to keep his volatility in check, he fails to learn from his mistakes, pushing any chance at moving up to Brawler further and further away. But as the threat from Doris (Spencer) begins to heat up, he just may finally get to prove himself as he's never done before.
