Apple has today given a series order to the original limited series Defending Jacob starring Captain America's Chris Evans. The season will feature eight episodes.
Based on William Landay's 2012 novel of the same name, the drama revolves around Andy Barber (Evans), an assistant district attorney who investigates the slaying of a 14-year-old boy and discovers his teenage son is a suspect.
Mark Bomback (the Planet of the Apes trilogy) created the series, with Morten Tyldum (Counterpart, Jack Ryan) set to direct the premiere. They will executive produce with Evans, Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman. Paramount Television and Anonymous Content will produce.
