FOX Orders 2 More Episodes of 'Lethal Weapon'

FOX has today ordered an additional two episodes for the current third season of its original drama series Lethal Weapon. The order brings the season's total up to 15 episodes.

The drama was only picked up for 13 episodes for its third season due to the significant cast change in between the seasons. Due to issues behind the scenes, Clayne Crawford was let go from his starring role as the co-lead opposite Damon Wayans. Seann William Scott was brought in as the new co-lead for the third season - with the opening episodes largely remaining steady in the ratings.

Today's order for two more episodes also comes shortly after an interview with Wayans went viral with him saying it was likely he would exit the show after the 13-episode order was complete. Since then, the network and production company have been in ongoing talks with the actor for him to continue with more attention being paid to the demanding production schedule in order to be more accommodating for him.

In addition to Wayans and Scott, the drama stars Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Johnathan Fernandez, Michelle Mitchenor, Chandler Kinney and Dante Brown.
