Netflix Cancels 'Iron Fist' After 2 Seasons

Netflix has opted to cancel its original drama series Iron Fist after two seasons. As one of the five ongoing Marvel dramas on the streaming service, it is the first to actually be cancelled. The second season launched on September 7, 2018.

In an official statement, Netflix and Marvel said: "Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We're thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we've shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on."

The drama's second season starred Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Tom Pelphrey, Jessica Stroup, Sacha Dhawan, Simone Missick and Alice Eve.

Raven Metzner served as showrunner for the 10-episode second season, which was better received than the critically panned first season.
