DC Universe's Stargirl; HBO's Divorce; Netflix's Altered Carbon; and Showtime's Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.





NETFLIX's ALTERED CARBON
  • RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner will return to the drama for its upcoming second season - with Anthony Mackie replacing Joel Kinnaman in the lead role. New cast additions announced today include Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht and James Saito.
  • Goldsberry plays Quellcrist Falconer, a fierce revolutionary leader with a deep bond to Takeshi Kovacs (Mackie). She is driven by her desire to reset the balance between life and death.
  • Conner plays Poe, a centuries-old, highly-evolved A.I. and loyal companion to Takeshi Kovacs. He strives to understand what it means to be human.
  • Missick (Luke Cage) will play Trepp, an expert bounty hunter known for her ability to track down anyone in the Settled Worlds, for the right price.
  • Shihabi (Jack Ryan) will play Dig 301, an out-of-work A.I. programmed to assist human archeologists. She finds a new purpose when she meets Poe.
  • Liebrecht (X Company) will play Colonel Ivan Carrera, the dogged leader of a Protectorate Special Forces unit known as the "Wedge" which is on the hunt for Takeshi Kovacs.
  • Saito (The Terror) will play Tanaseda Hideki, a centuries-old Yakuza boss who controls organized crime on the planet of Harlan's World and shares a history with Takeshi Kovacs.
SHOWTIME's PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS
  • Natalie Dormer will play the lead role on the upcoming spinoff of Penny Dreadful. She previously starred for two seasons in Showtime's The Tudors, five seasons in HBO's Game of Thrones and in the Amazon limited series Picnic at Hanging Rock
  • She will play Magda, a supernatural demon who can take the appearance of anyone she chooses and who manifests in a number of guises throughout the story. She is a dangerous enemy and invaluable ally.
HBO's DIVORCE
  • Dominic Fumusa has booked a recurring role on the comedy's upcoming third season. He previously starred for six seasons in Showtime's Nurse Jackie. He has recently recurred on Showtime's Homeland, Amazon's Goliath and USA's The Purge.
  • He will play Jeremy, a handsome former semipro basketball player who's an assistant coach of the Lady Raiders under Robert (Thomas Haden Church) - and has a much more aggressive coaching style. Though he initially comes off as an all-American jock, he reveals himself to be surprisingly self-aware.
DC UNIVERSE's STARGIRL
  • Amy Smart, Neil Jackson, Hunter Sansone and Trae Romano have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Brec Bassinger. Smart has previously recurred on CBS' MacGyver, FX's Justified and Showtime's Shameless. Jackson's film credits include Welcome to Marwen, Quantum of Solace and Nocturnal Animals. Sansone can be seen in the upcoming film Unfollow. Romano appears in Comedy Central's upcoming comedy Robbie.
  • Smart will play Barbara Whitmore, the mother of Courtney Whitmore (Bassinger). Now that her daughter is older, Barbara is jumping back into the workforce and striving to be the best mother and provider she can be to her daughter, her new husband (Luke Wilson) and her new stepson (Romano).
  • Romano will play Mike Dugan, Pat's overly-charming teenage son and Courtney's new stepbrother.
  • No details were immediately released today about the characters Jackson and Sansone will be playing.
