Syfy Cancels 'Nightflyers' After One Season

Syfy has today decided to cancel its original drama series Nightflyers after one season. The expensive space drama was based on the novella by George R.R. Martin.

The drama starred Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Brian F. O'Byrne and Gretchen Mol.

Jeff Buhler developed the drama. He executive produced with Martin, Daniel Cerone, Gene Klein, David Bartis, Doug Liman, Alison Rosenzweig, Michael Gaeta, Lloyd Ivan Miller and Alice P. Neuhauser. Universal Cable Productions, Hypnotic Productions, Gaeta Rosenzweig Films and Lloyd Ivan Miller Productions produced.

Netflix came aboard the series as a co-producer early on in production. The 10-episode first season debuted on the streaming service earlier this month after its linear debut on Syfy in December 2018. It has not become a breakout performer on the streaming service though - which led to the cancellation today.
