HBO's UNTITLED LOS ANGELES LAKERS PROJECT
- Michael Shannon has been cast on the drama pilot about the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers. He received Academy Award nominations for Revolutionary Road and Nocturnal Animals. He also received a Tony Award nomination for Long Day's Journey into Night. And finally, he starred for five seasons in HBO's Boardwalk Empire as well as the limited series Waco at Paramount and The Little Drummer Girl at AMC.
- He will play Jerry Buss, the majority owner of the Lakers at the time. He is a self-made millionaire whose success has only amplified his proclivity for risk. He redefines American sports, celebrity, and wealth by transforming the Lakers into a dynasty but his house of cards threatens to collapse on him - and the people he loves most.
