The Nominees Ranked By Which Should Win:

- FOX's Bob's Burgers - "Just One of the Boyz 4 Now for Now"
- Cartoon Network's Adventure Time - "Come Along with Me"
- FOX's The Simpsons - "Mad About the Toy"
It's a real Sophie's choice between BoJack Horseman and Big Mouth in this category. "Free Churro" and "The Planned Parenthood Show" were two of the best episodes on any television show in 2018. They were tremendous in such widely different ways too. "Free Churro" was an introspective story about dealing with tragedy and loss when the person being mourned didn't conjure up the most loving or supportive of feelings. Meanwhile, "The Planned Parenthood Show" was an informative episode about the various methods one has to undergo in order to be responsible while sexually active all wrapped up in a variety show format. Both episodes had incredibly high points of absurdist humor but they also dealt with some truly poignant and deeply felt emotions that anyone watching could immediately relate to. Both shows would be absolutely deserving winners in this particular category. They are far ahead of the other three nominees - though Bob's Burgers, Adventure Time and The Simpsons should all be respected as well for their longevity across the years.

Every year for its first five seasons BoJack Horseman was snubbed in this category despite arguably being one of the best animated programs on television. It may even be one of the best shows overall on Netflix. As such, it was so rewarding to see it amongst the list of nominees this year. The same goes to Big Mouth though we didn't have numerous years of being disappointed over a snub. That show only missed out for its first season. It's bound to have a major presence in this field because Netflix has already committed to a length future for it. And again, the Netflix factor of it all will more than likely consume the conversation and could inform the voters when they are casting their ballots. Both BoJack Horseman and Big Mouth would be deserving winners. It really could be seen as a toss-up between them. Of course, the other nominees have all won at the Emmys previously. Adventure Time usually competes as a short-form animated program. But it won twice there in 2015 and 2017. Bob's Burgers is a two-time winner of this category in 2014 and 2017. And The Simpsons has more nominations and wins than any other program that has competed in this race. None of them should be counted out which should make all of this even more exciting.
