BET+ Announces Launch Date Later This Month; Including the Premieres of Comedies 'First Wives Club' and 'Bigger'

Viacom's BET Networks and Tyler Perry Studios have announced today the launch date and price point for BET+, their joint venture and premier subscription video-on-demand service.

BET+ will launch on Thursday, September 19 for $9.99 per month.

Furthermore, two original comedy series will be available upon launch: the entire 9-episode first season of First Wives Club as well as the first three episodes of Bigger. The latter is expected to air the remainder of its 10-episode first season on a weekly basis.

Based on the feature film of the same name, First Wives Club follows a group of women in New York City who band together after their marriages fall apart and find strength in their sisterhood - and of course a little revenge.

The comedy stars Jill Scott, Michelle Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Mark Tallman, RonReaco Lee and Malik Yoba.

Tracy Oliver developed the comedy. She executive produces with Karen Rosenfeld, Scott Rudin and Tony Hernandez. Paramount Television and Jax Media produce.

Set in the East Atlanta neighborhood of Little Five Points, Bigger centers on a single black woman dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring-in-bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her ambitious group of friends to take a deeper look at their stagnant lives, asking themselves: Is there something bigger and better in life?

The comedy stars Tanisha Long, Angell Conwell, Rasheda Crockett, Chase Anthony, Tristen Winger, Warren Burke and Terrence T. Terrell.

Felisha Marye created the comedy, with Devon Shepard serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Will Packer. Sheila Ducksworth serves as a co-executive producer. Will Packer Media produces.
