Casting News - Kylie Bunbury to Star in 'The Big Sky'; Daniel Dae Kim Joins 'New Amsterdam' as Recurring; Plus 3 More Updates!

ABC's The Big Sky; Amazon's Lord of the Rings; AMC's Kevin Can F**k Himself; Epix's Chapelwaite; and NBC's New Amsterdam.





AMC's KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF
  • Eric Petersen has been cast as the male lead on the upcoming dramedy starring Annie Murphy. Mary Hollis Inboden and Alex Bonifer have also been cast today. Petersen starred in TV Land's one-season comedy Kirstie. Inboden starred for two seasons in ABC's The Real O'Neals. Bonifer has recurred on NBC's Superstore.
  • Petersen will play Kevin, Allison's (Murphy) self-centered husband, a cable guy of no ambitions.
  • Inboden will play Patty, Kevin and Allison's neighbor
  • Bonifer will play Neil, Patty's brother and Kevin's best friend.
ABC's THE BIG SKY
  • Kylie Bunbury will play the lead role on the upcoming drama starring Katheryn Winnick and Ryan Phillippe. She previously starred for one season in CBS' Under the Dome, one season in FOX's Pitch and in the Netflix limited series When They See Us. She next stars in Peacock's upcoming drama Brave New World.
  • She will play Cassie Dewell, an ex-rodeo rider turned private detective. She is the junior partner of Cody Hoyt (Phillippe) at their firm, Hoyt and Dewell, who is eager to get involved in the case of the missing girls.
NBC's NEW AMSTERDAM
  • Daniel Dae Kim has booked a recurring role on the drama's second season. He previously starred for six seasons in ABC's Lost and seven seasons in CBS' Hawaii Five-0. He has recurred on ABC's The Good Doctor, which he also executive produces.
  • He will play Dr. Cassian Shin, the new head trauma surgeon with unorthodox medical practices.
EPIX's CHAPELWAITE
  • Emily Hampshire is set as the female lead on the upcoming drama (formerly Jerusalem's Lot) starring Adrien Brody. She currently stars in Pop's Schitt's Creek, which is now airing its sixth and final season. She also starred for three seasons in Syfy's 12 Monkeys.
  • She will play Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher's Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College, and has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Her writer's block lifts when Boone (Brody) arrives in town with his children, and despite her mother's protests, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only craft the next great gothic novel, she'll unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.
AMAZON's LORD OF THE RINGS
  • Maxim Baldry has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Robert Aramayo and Joseph Mawle. He previously starred in the HBO limited series Years and Years.
  • No details were immediately released about the character he will be playing.
