BET Reveals Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'American Soul'

BET has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of the original drama series American Soul.







The 8-episode second season will debut on Wednesday, May 27 at 10/9c.

The new season picks up two years later in 1975. As Don Cornelius becomes a rising star, he continues to manage an assortment of spectacular talent that comes to his show, a complicated family life, failing personal health and perhaps most importantly, his ego.

The drama stars Sinqua Walls, Kelly Price, Jason Dirden, Iantha Richardson, Katlyn Nichol and Christopher Jefferson.

Guest stars for the second season include Big Boi, Ledisi, Melanie Fiona, Demetria McKinney, London Brown, Darius McCrary, Tone Bell, Yung Joc, D.C. Young Fly, Christopher B. Duncan, Kearran Giovanni, Alex Ball and Hudson Thames.

Jonathan Prince and Devon Greggory created the drama, with Judith McCreary serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Jesse Collins, Tony Cornelius, Peter O'Fallon, Mystro Clark, Shemar Moore and Dorian Gregory. Jesse Collins Entertainment produces.
