Netflix Announces Premiere Date for Season 5 of 'Lucifer'

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming fifth season of the original drama series Lucifer.







The first 8 episodes of the 16-episode fifth season will be available on Friday, August 21.

The drama stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Scarlett Estevez, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia and Inbar Lavi.

Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich serve as showrunners. They executive produce with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Len Wiseman. Warner Bros. Television, DC Entertainment and Jerry Bruckheimer Television produce.

The fifth season was originally billed as the final installment of the drama. However, Netflix and Warner Bros. have been in discussions about a sixth season. Ellis has signed a new deal to continue starring in the lead role, while Henderson and Modrovich are locked down to continue as showrunners for another season.
