NBC Orders 8 Episodes of Comedy 'Connecting' Created by Martin Gero

NBC has today given a series order to the original comedy series Connecting created by Martin Gero (Blindspot). The first season will produce 8 episodes, which will begin remote production shortly.

The ensemble comedy focuses on a group of friends trying to stay close - and sane - through video chats as they share the highs and lows of these extraordinary times brought on by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Gero will write the series with longtime collaborator Brendan Gall. The series marks the first project to come from Gero's multi-year overall deal with Universal Television, which he signed in May 2020 after departing his former home at Warner Bros. Television.

The series will be produced entirely remotely, with cameras being sent to the actors. The final product may be fast-tracked for a fall debut if the broadcast network is unable to restart production on its expected schedule of programs.
