Amazon Announces Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'The Boys'

Amazon has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of the original drama series The Boys.

The first three episodes of the 8-episode second season will be available on Friday, September 4, with new episodes being released each Friday until the season finale on Friday, October 9.

The new season will find The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie, Mother's Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront, a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation's paranoia.

The drama stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell and Aya Cash.

Recurring guest stars in the second season include Patton Oswalt, Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnjic, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins and Giancarlo Esposito.

Eric Kripke developed the drama based on the comic of the same name. He executive produces with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter. Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Point Grey Pictures, Original Film and Kripke Enterprises produce.
