ABC's WOMEN OF THE MOVEMENT
  • Adrienne Warren will play the lead role on the upcoming limited series created by Marissa Jo Cerar. Yesterday, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her lead performance in the musical Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
  • She will play Mamie Till-Mobley. After the brutal murder of her son, Emmett Till, in the Jim Crow South, she put her own life on the line to seek justice in his name. Unwilling to let Emmett's murder disappear from the headlines, Mamie chose to bear her pain on the world's stage, and as a result ignited the civil rights movement as we know it today.
APPLE TV+'s TRUTH BE TOLD
  • Kate Hudson has joined the drama's upcoming second season as a new series regular. She was nominated for an Academy Award in 2000 for the film Almost Famous. Her film credits also include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, Deepwater Horizon and Marshall. On television, she previously recurred on FOX's Glee.
  • She will play Micah Keith, a lifestyle guru and longtime friend of Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer. A new case that deeply involves both women unfolds and quickly puts their relationship to the ultimate test.
HBO MAX's GENERATION
  • Anthony Keyvan, Diego Josef, J. August Richards, John Ross Bowie, Mary Birdsong, Patricia De Leon and Sydney Mae Diaz have booked recurring roles on the upcoming dramedy starring Justice Smith. Keyvan previously recurred on Netflix's Alexa & Katie. Josef has recurred on Amazon's Goliath. Richards recently starred in NBC's one-season drama Council of Dads. Bowie starred for three seasons in ABC's Speechless. Birdsong has starred for four seasons in Comedy Central/Quibi's Reno 911!. De Leon has recurred on Starz's Magic City and ABC's Stumptown. Diaz has recurred on Netflix's Iron Fist and Hulu's High Fidelity.
  • Keyvan will play Pablo, Riley's (Chase Sui Wonders) ex-hookup buddy and classmate. He is an attractive "bad boy" and a man of few words.
  • Josef will play Cooper. At first glance, he gives you major jock Junior Conservative Club vibes, but underneath he's a sweet and genuine kid who's trying to understand and connect with his transgender brother.
  • Richards will play Joe, Arianna's (Nathanya Alexander) father. He holds petty grudges but is a deeply caring father and husband.
  • Bowie will play Patrick, Arianna's father, a former "straight" evangelical who is now married to Joe.
  • Birdsong will play Mrs. Culpepper, a former girl scout, current leader of the GSA. She's enthusiastic, well-intentioned and maybe just a touch too earnest.
  • De Leon will play Sela, Greta's (Haley Sanchez) mother. Old school to the core, she is a God-fearing woman who honors tradition.
  • Diaz will play J, the stoner philosopher of the group with a lofty mindset and obsession with roof topping and the tantra.
DISNEY+'s THE FALCON & THE WINTER SOLDIER
  • Danny Ramirez will co-star on the upcoming Marvel drama starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. He has previously recurred on FOX's The Gifted and Netflix's On My Block. He also appears in the upcoming film Top Gun: Maverick.
  • No details were immediately released about the character he will be playing.
