'The Best Man' Film Franchise Returns as 10-Episode Limited Series on Peacock

Universal's hit The Best Man film franchise is returning with a new installment. Peacock has today ordered a limited series continuation of the films titled The Best Man: The Final Chapters - which will produce 10 episodes.

The cast from the feature films are set to returning, including Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau.

The series will catch up with Harper, Robyn, Jordan, Lance, Quentin, Shelby, Candace and Murch as relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance.

Malcolm D. Lee and Dayna Lynne North are writing the series. They will executive produce with Sean Daniel and Sheila Walcott. Universal Television, Blackmaled Productions and Loud Sis Productions will produce.

"We're excited to reunite this beloved cast for a limited series run of The Best Man for Peacock," said Susan Rovner, Chairman of Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television. "With a powerhouse duo like Malcolm and Dayna at the helm, fans will fall in love with our favorite group of friends all over again."

Two feature films have been produced in The Best Man franchise - the original was released in 1999 and the sequel The Best Man Holiday was released in 2013.
