Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi and HBO's Untitled Los Angeles Lakers Drama.

DISNEY+'s OBI-WAN KENOBI
  • Maya Erskine has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. She is the co-creator and star of Hulu's PEN15, which has produced two seasons. She previously recurred on Hulu's Casual and HBO's Insecure.
  • No details were immediately announced about the character she will be playing.
HBO's UNTITLED LOS ANGELES LAKERS DRAMA
  • Tracy Letts, Julianne Nicholson, Jimel Atkins, LisaGay Hamilton and Andy Hirsch will appear in the upcoming drama starring John C. Reilly, Jason Clarke, Adrien Brody and Sally Field. Letts previously starred for two seasons in Showtime's Homeland, two seasons in HBO's Divorce and one season in USA's The Sinner. Nicholson currently stars in the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown. Atkins has recurred on OWN's David Makes Man. Hamilton starred for seven seasons in ABC's The Practice and two seasons in TNT's Men of a Certain Age. Hirsch narrated two seasons of Amazon's Grave Mysteries.
  • Letts will play Jack McKinney, the unsung hero behind Showtime basketball. He is the original architect of the Lakers' fast-paced running game. Despite having no NBA head coaching experience, he must find a way to translate his groundbreaking vision and unify his new team.
  • Nicholson will play Cranny McKinney, a coach's wife who is in many ways a coach herself. Frank, funny and tenacious, she is no stranger to uprooting her family and does it one last time - leading the family to Los Angeles for what could be the realization of their lifelong dream. It proves to be just that; but as the Lakers rocket to unprecedented success, tragedy derails everything.
  • Atkins will play Jamaal Wilkes, the son of a Baptist preacher who converted to Islam. He is thoughtful, good-natured and soft-spoken - which means he's often overshadowed by the big personalities (and bigger egos) of his teammates. But he doesn't need headlines or hype. On the court, he's a silent killer; with game smooth enough to earn his nickname: Silk.
  • Hamilton will play Christine Johnson, Magic Johnson's (Quincy Isaiah) mother. Like her son, she is a natural leader in her community; able to command a room with charisma and savvy. As Magic's fame and wealth grow, she tries to keep his feet on the ground.
  • Hirsch will play David Stern. As commissioner of the NBA for 30 years, his groundbreaking marketing transformed the NBA and led it to unprecedented financial success. But in 1979, he was the organization's legal counsel, determined to use the rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird (Bo Burnham) to reinvigorate the league - and, hopefully, save it from financial ruin.
