Emmy Predictions 2021 - Who Will Likely Be Nominated for Guest Actor in a Drama Series?

From June 17-28, 2021, voting is taking place for The 73rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. As such, it's fun to look at which actors and shows have the best chances of actually being nominated this year. So, these are my predictions for who will be nominated for Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

For Guest Actor in a Drama Series, 60 actors were submitted for consideration. That will result in five nominees in this category when the nominations are announced on Tuesday, July 13.

Actors most likely to be nominated:
  1. Charles Dance for Netflix's The Crown
  2. Courtney B. Vance for HBO's Lovecraft Country
  3. Michael Angarano for NBC's This Is Us
  4. Timothy Olyphant for Disney+'s The Mandalorian
  5. Carl Weathers for Disney+'s The Mandalorian
Serious threats that could break through:
  1. Mark Hamill, Bill Burr, Omid Abtahi, Michael Biehn, Simon Kassianides, Horatio Sanz and Titus Welliver for Disney+'s The Mandalorian
  2. Don Cheadle for Disney+'s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
  3. Patrick Dempsey and T.R. Knight for ABC's Grey's Anatomy
  4. Justin Kirk for HBO's Perry Mason
  5. Tony Goldwyn for HBO's Lovecraft Country
  6. Freddie Stroma for Netflix's Bridgerton
Some considerable long-shots:
  1. Norm Lewis, Jeremy McClain and J. Cameron Barnett for FX's Pose
  2. Stephen Kunken for Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale
  3. Corey Stoll for Netflix's Ratched
  4. Nabhaan Rizwan for HBO's Industry
  5. Ian Hart for AppleTV+'s The Mosquito Coast
Colorful oddities who still have an outside chance:
  1. David Cronenberg, Bill Irwin and Ian Alexander for CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery
  2. Paul Sorvino for Epix's Godfather of Harlem
  3. Boris McGiver for AppleTV+'s Servant
  4. Shaun Toub for TNT's Snowpiercer
