'Night Court' Sequel Starring Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette Ordered to Series at NBC

NBC has today given a series order to the original comedy series Night Court, a follow-up to the classic 1984-92 sitcom with John Larroquette reprising his four-time Emmy-winning role.

The comedy centers on unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (The Big Bang Theory's Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father's footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (Larroquette).

The cast also features Ana VillafaƱe, Lacretta and Kapil Talwalkar.

Dan Rubin wrote the pilot, which was directed by Pamela Fryman. They will executive produce with Rauch, Larroquette and Winston Rauch. Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television and After January Productions produce.
