Casting News - Taylor Kitsch Joins 'Painkiller'; 'Stargirl' Promotes Joel McHale to Series Regular; Plus 2 More Updates!

THE CW's STARGIRL
  • Joel McHale has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming third season. He has recurred throughout the drama's first two seasons - appearing in five episodes to date. He previously starred for six seasons in NBC's Community. He also hosts the game shows Card Sharks on ABC and Crime Scene Kitchen on FOX.
  • He plays Sylvester Pemberton aka Starman.
NETFLIX's PAINKILLER
  • Taylor Kitsch, Ana Cruz Kayne, Tyler Ritter, John Ales, Sam Anderson, Carolina Bartczak, Jack Mulhern and Ron Lea have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Uzo Aduba and Matthew Broderick. Kitsch starred in the second season of HBO's True Detective and in the Paramount Network limited series Waco. Kayne has guest starred on CBS' Blue Bloods and Freeform's The Bold Type. Ritter recurred on The CW's Arrow and Netflix's Merry Happy Whatever. Ales starred for two seasons in FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Anderson has recurred on ABC's Lost and FX's Justified. Bartczak appeared in the film X-Men: Apocalypse. Mulhern starred in Netflix's one-season drama The Society. Lea recurred on FX's The Strain and BBC America's Orphan Black.
  • Kitsch will play Glen Kryger, a hardworking family man whose life is upended after an injury.
  • Kayne will play Brianna Ortiz, an ambitious young attorney.
  • Ritter will play U.S. Attorney John Brownlee.
  • Ales will play Gregory Fitzgibbons, a doctor in rural Virginia.
  • Anderson will play Raymond Sackler, the co-owner of Purdue Pharma.
  • Bartczak will play Lily Kryger, Glen's wife.
  • Mulhern will play Tyler Kryger, Glen's stepson.
  • Lea will play Bill Havens, a veteran attorney.
THE CW's ALL AMERICAN
  • Hunter Clowdus has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming fourth season. He has recurred throughout the drama's first three seasons - appearing in 37 episodes so far. He has also recurred on MTV's Teen Wolf and Netflix's American Vandal.
  • He plays JJ Parker, an outside linebacker turned quarterback for the Beverly Hills Eagles, who shines as a star both on and off the field.
PARAMOUNT+'s THE OFFER
  • Eric Balfour will co-star on the upcoming limited series starring Miles Teller and Matthew Goode. He previously starred for five seasons in Syfy's Haven. He has recently recurred on Netflix's Country Comfort and The CW's Charmed.
  • He will play Dean Tavoularis, the production designer who created cinematic magic on a very limited budget.
