Showtime Announces Premiere Date for New Anthology 'Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber' Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Showtime has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original anthology drama series Super Pumped starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Trial of the Chicago 7) and Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights).

The first season of the anthology drama - subtitled The Battle for Uber - will premiere on Sunday, February 27 at 10/9c.

Each season of the anthology series will explore a story that rocked the business world to its core and changed culture. The first season is based on the novel Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber by Mike Isaac.

The season will pivot on Travis Kalanick (Gordon-Levitt), Uber's hard-charging CEO who was ultimately ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes tumultuous relationship with his mentor Bill Gurley (Chandler), the plainspoken, brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber's success - and then has to live with the consequences.

In addition to Gordon-Levitt and Chandler, the series stars Uma Thurman, Elisabeth Shue, Kerry Bishé, Jon Bass, Bridget Gao Hollitt and Babak Tafti.

Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Beth Schacter created the series. They executive produce with Paul Schiff, Stephen Schiff, Allyce Ozarski and director Allen Coulter. Isaac serves as a co-executive producer.
